Rockets douse the Holy Family Fire

Rockford came into the game following a less than great effort against Hawley the prior day in the Granite City Classic (still a win but sloppy play). Holy Family on the other hand had handily beaten St Croix Prep in their game (St Croix Prep had come into the game 6-1… but… hadn’t really beaten any teams of record).

This Holy Family team is no slouch, they have an excellent outside shooter and they move the ball very well to find the opening for a good shot. They also rebound extremely well on the inside for 2nd chance points.

However, some outstanding shooting and an improved 2nd half perimeter defense pretty much shut down the external attack of the Fire and led the Rockets to a 67-55 section win over what could probably be considered their largest out of conference rival.

The win takes Rockford to 7-0 overall on the season, 3-0 in the section and 1-0 in conference play.

Next up starts the conference season with Watertown-Mayer on Thur 1/2 IN WATERTOWN.

Note: There will be no pics from me for the Watertown game as I had a prior commitment for that date.
