The Rockets had seen the Norwood Young America team multiple times this year and good close games have been the outcome each time. This game was no exception with a back and forth battle that in the end resulted in Rockford walking away with a 2 point victory 59 – 57. Look forward to many years of these 2 teams beating on each other.
That concludes the regular season!
The Rockets finish the year at 18 – 8 overall, 7 – 2 in the section, and 10 – 6 in the conference. Those are good for: AA ranking #38 (of 123), Overall across all classes in the state #128 (of 412), 4th place in the conference, and they are teetering on the 7th place position in section 5AA. And… just checked the state tournament website, and Rockford DID somehow garner the #7 seed with a lower QRF than Jordan… not sure how that works, but GOOD JOB!
That that means…
Rockford gets a first round tournament bye. Then in the 2nd round (Thursday March 6th) they will have a HOME GAME vs the winner of the first round game between Maranatha and Brooklyn Center (the #10 vs the #15). The winner of that game goes on to face perennial powerhouse Breck.
Good luck gentlemen!
